A bevy of popular merit-making ceremonies makes this a hectic temple on weekends. The signature attraction is the 19m-high Phra Phanan Choeng Buddha, which was created in 1324 and sits inside a soaring wí·hǎhn (8am to 5pm) surrounded by 84,000 small Buddha images lining the walls. It's even more imposing than the big Buddha at Wihan Phra Mongkhon Bophit. People come here daily to cover their heads with the end of the big Buddha's robe, a ceremony that other temples normally only do on major holidays.
The buildings in front of the big Buddha have historic murals and the Jao Mae Soi Dok Mak Chinese shrine facing the river is especially colourful.
