This spectacular monastery has had a makeover in recent years and the gleaming gold-and-white towers are sure to dazzle. The chedi at the temple loosely resembles the Mahabodhi stupa in Bodhgaya, India, and inside is another beautiful golden chedi (open 8am to 6pm). The latter was built in 1956 in honour of the 2500th anniversary of Buddhism. The adjacent hall (săh·lah) continues the golden theme, with a bright altar containing eight large sitting Buddhas and, above them, a reclining Buddha.
The temple is on the outskirts of town. To get there, take sŏrng·tăa·ou 10.
