Chung Kai was the site one of the biggest Allied prisoner-of-war camp during WWII and prisoners built their own hospital and church close to here. Smaller and less visited, but just as well maintained, as the cemetery in town, 1400 Commonwealth and 300 Dutch soldiers are honoured here. The cemetery is near the river, 2.5km southwest of the Wat Neua bridge and can easily be reached by bicycle.
