The focus of the Portuguese village is a burial-site excavation with several skeletal remains of Portuguese settlers on display in an open pit. In front is the foundation of the 1540 St Dominic Church, the first church built in Thailand and one of three at what was the largest of the European communities. Note the Thai-style spirit house with figures of St Joseph and St Paul inside.
