Vietnam's Best Beaches

Blessed with miles upon miles of stunning coastline, it’s no surprise that Vietnam offers something for everyone in the realm of beach destinations. From mainstays on the tourist trail to remote, near-deserted islands, this country’s pristine shores afford a healthy mix of active, fast-paced water sport hubs and easygoing seaside venues.

• Con Dao: This island oasis has dense jungle, sun-bleached shores, and soaring seaside cliffs. It’s one of the country’s most alluring beaches but also one of the most difficult to reach. Reward yourself with its striking coastlines, turquoise waters, and some of the best diving in Vietnam.
• Mui Ne: A well-traveled spot on the south-central coast, this ever-expanding resort town delivers low-key shores and Western comforts. It’s also known as the country’s kitesurfing capital.
• Nha Trang: This bustling beach hotspot welcomes sunbathers, snorkelers, and divers to explore its shores. After dark, the party moves on land, where all-night celebrations last until the wee hours. Doc Let to the north offers a quieter, more exclusive shoreline.
• Ninh Chu: The sleepy town of Phan Rang-Thap Cham offers local culture combined with a crescent stretch of sand that is quiet and authentic. Ninh Chu’s laid-back atmosphere and relative anonymity help preserve its off-the-beaten-track vibe.
• Phu Quoc: Vietnam’s go-to resort destination, popular with couples and families, Phu Quoc Island houses several good options. Long Beach is lively, happening but not claustrophobic. Sao Beach to the south is pristine. Ganh Dau and Bai Dai to the north are a perfect place to commune with nature and escape the more touristed parts of the island.
