Founded by Hanoi artist Vu Duc Hieu, this establishment showcases the culture of the local Muong ethnic minority and the quirky art and sculpture of the owner. Unfortunately, a fire in 2013 destroyed the building holding the collection of Muong artefacts, but the sprawling five-hectare complex is worth visiting for the relaxed vibe and beautiful surroundings.
A xe om from Hoa Binh to the museum is around 50,000d and a taxi around 100,000d.
There's also shared accommodation here in simple stilt houses, and treks with local Muong ethnic minority guides can be arranged (300,000d).
