Langa Lake
The HCMC–Dalat road (Hwy 20) spans this reservoir, which is traversed by a bridge. Lots of floating houses, where families harvest the fish underneath, can be seen here.

Statue of Me Suot
Near the market is a statue of Me Suot , commemorating an elderly woman who died in an American attack while she was ferrying North Vietnamese soldiers across the river.

Buu Son Tu (Precious Mountain Temple) was founded over 200 years ago by a Chinese family named Ngo. Today the temple is better known as Chua Dat Set , or Clay Pagoda.

Thap Rua
Built in 1886, the ramshackle Thap Rua, on a small island in Hoan Kiem Lake, is topped with a red star on special occasions and is often used as an emblem of Hanoi.

Located in the middle of a busy traffic intersection near Ben Thanh Market, this statue features the 15th-century Vietnamese general Tran Nguyen Han atop his horse.

Floating Market
You need to get up at the crack of dawn to see the best of this floating market. The action is busiest around 5am to 6am, when locals gather to buy fresh produce wholesale.

Martyrs Monument
This photogenic monument depicting a woman with a sword and two men holding guns and a torch was erected as a memorial to those who died fighting for Vietnam’s independence.

Dakrong Bridge
Crossing the Dakrong River 13km east of the Khe Sanh bus station, this bridge was rebuilt in 2001 and bears a marker hailing its importance as a conduit for the Ho Chi Minh Trail.

Bo Bla Waterfall
The 32m-high Bo Bla Waterfall is on the east side of Hwy 20, 16km southwest of Di Linh, near the village of Lien Dam. There’s a steep 25-minute walk down to the base of the falls.

Linh Ung
The other big attraction on the peninsula is Linh Ung, a colossal Buddha statue positioned on a lotus-shaped platform that looks south to Danang city; there’s a monastery here too.

Tran Hung Dao Temple
This popular little temple is dedicated to Tran Hung Dao, a national hero who in 1287 vanquished Mongol emperor Kublai Khan’s invasion force, said to have numbered 300,000 men.

Dien Bien Phu Cemetery
The immaculately maintained Dien Bien Phu Cemetery commemorates the Vietnamese dead, each gravestone bearing the gold star of the Vietnamese flag and a clutch of incense sticks.

Den Kiep Bac
This is dedicated to Tran Hung Dao (1228–1300). An outstanding general, his armies defeated 500,000 Mongol invaders in the late 1280s and he is a revered Vietnamese folk hero.

Ben Tre Museum
In an ageing but atmospheric old yellow villa, this museum displays the usual assortment of rusty weapons, American War photos and artefacts yielded from archaeological digs.
