Antigua's first sugar plantation, built in 1674, sits on a quiet hill south of Pares. You can poke around the stone windmills (one restored) and remnants of the boiling house, the distillery, the Great House and other structures. Interpretative signs and a small museum provide information about the sugar-making process and glimpses into daily life at the plantation.
