The remains of this fort, which once protected the southern entrance of St John’s Harbour, are atop Goat Hill at the north end of Deep Bay. Originally built in the mid-17th century, most of the present fortifications date from 1779. To get to the fort walk north along the beach at Deep Bay for about 10 minutes.
