Just east of Worthing, this preserve protects the last major mangroves on the island, but, at the time of our visit, the foundation that runs it had closed the grounds to protest decisions allowing development that may threaten the site. Meanwhile, the lush gardens spread over 14 hectares, boardwalks, trails and displays remain perfectly groomed for reopening. You can get a glimpse of the beauty from the outdoor tables at the excellent cafe. Check for sporadic opening days.
