Considered to be one of the world’s most beautiful natural sites, The Baths is an absolute must if you plan on heading to Virgin Gorda. Laden with exotic pools and grottos that are formed by mammoth boulders, each turn in The Bath’s is a unique and romantic experience.
Around each corner explorers can swim their way into new and exciting grottos where if you happen to be snorkeling you can see through the water with crystal clarity.
If you happen to be a geological buff, you will notice that the boulders on the beach are indicators of the islands volcanic origins, which placed the granite that eroded into their current splendid formation.
The Baths are accessible through stimulating water trails that you can reach through Devil’s Bay. If you are careful and are attentive to the water life you can spot beautiful sponges and corals. Another such path leads to Spring Bay, where you can spot a many fish and other aquatic life.
There is also a more traditional entrance that leads directly to The Bath’s main entrance. If you head west from Spanish Town along the conveniently signposted road, you can drop your car off at the Top of the Baths where the bars, restaurant and shops are located.
At the top of the main entrance you should try the elegant and healthy Baths restaurant, complete with an open air verandah and gorgeous views.
