Playa Ancón, a precious ribbon of white beach on Sancti Spíritus’ iridescent Caribbean shoreline, is usually touted – with good merit – to be the finest arc of sand on Cuba’s south coast.
There are three all-inclusive hotels here and excellent snorkeling and diving just offshore or at the small reef islet of Cayo Blanco , 25km to the southeast. Diving with the Cayo Blanco International Dive Center , located at Marina Trinidad, costs CUC$35 a dive and CUC$320 for an open-water course. The Marina also runs a seven-hour snorkeling-and-beach tour to Cayo Blanco for CUC$45 per person with lunch.
