A work first unveiled in 1977 that was elemental in reviving Cuba’s sculpturing traditions and making Las Tunas its HQ. The sculpture comprises a huge fountain filled with elaborate interwoven figures symbolising the emergence of the Greater Antilles' indigenous peoples from the Caribbean Sea. Cuba is represented by an India dormida (sleeping Taíno woman).
