This blindingly white, world-famous, 11km-long beach is Negril’s claim to fame, and no matter how cynical you are, you gotta admit: this is one beautiful beach. It’s a hell of a show: naked Europeans, tattooed Americans, gigolos and hustlers offering everything from sex to aloe massages and (always) drugs. Tourist police occasionally patrol but, by law, all Jamaican beaches must permit public access, so the hustlers are free to roam. Watersports concessions line the beach. By night, music pumps from reggae bars and discos.
