On the remote east coast, this 18th-century sugar plantation has the dubious distinction of being Nevis’ spookiest site. The year was 1822 and Julia Huggins was about to get married when her husband-to-be and her brother (his best man) decided to resolve a quarrel with a dual that left them both dead. Heartbroken, Julia became a recluse and can allegedly still be heard roaming the grounds at night. The grounds are always open to visitors.
