While Vitsebsk does not have many churches of note, there is a pair of very different Orthodox churches on the eastern bank of the Dvina River, near the main bridge on vul Zamkovaya. The biggest of these is the reconstructed Uspensky Sobor , from where there are great river views, even if the interior feels rather sterile. Nearby too is the lovely Svyato-Voskresensky Church , on the corner of vul Lenina and vul Zamkovaya, a reconstruction of a magnificent 18th-century church with gorgeous frescoes on its facade, and golden onion domes.
