This foundation, one of Europe's largest private initiatives for contemporary art, has a unique, boundary-pushing collection on a 12-hectare site that includes the warehouses of the former Verbeke transport agency. Much of the work here – installation, assemblage, eco and bio art that utilises living things – has an anarchic, unfinished quality, as does the foundation itself.
Take the A11 Antwerp–Bruges highway to junction 11, then from the northern exit roundabout follow ‘Hellestraat/Koewacht’ signs 600m further west.
