Travnik's castle surveys the city from a shoulder of hillside above Plava Voda. The stone walls seem so bright in sunshine it looks like they've been scrubbed and the central multisided keep has been restored, housing a modest museum of local history and costumes. The surrounding curtain walls have been neatened up and to enter you walk across a fine stone bridge that spans a waterfall stream. There are picnic tables, a summer cafe and imitation stocks and mini-canon.
To get here from the Many Coloured Mosque, take the M5 pedestrian underpass and walk 10 minutes steeply up Varoš. From Plava Voda use Hendek (a stairway) and Musala to short cut to the upper part of Varoš.
