Part-way between upper Vratnik and Kovaći Cemetery, a simple summer cafe places chairs between the trees on this overgrown former citadel bastion. Gaze out from here across the red-roofed cityscape.
The horizon encompasses the Twin Towers, Avaz Twist Tower and on the far hilltop the globe-like mast of the historic TV Tower, hit by Serb missile attacks during June 1995.
Directly behind the Yellow Bastion rises the former Jajce Barracks (Safet Hasžić Kasarna), what appears to be a sturdy domed Austro-Hungarian palace. In fact, if you approach it, you'll see it's a derelict, overgrown ruin (no entry).
