Nicknamed Pigeon Sq for all the birds, Baščaršija's central open space centres on the Sebilj , an ornate 1891 drinking fountain. It leads past the lively (if tourist-centric) coppersmith alley, Kazandžiluk , leading down to the garden-wrapped 16th-century Baščaršija Džamija .
