The headless sphinx in black granite guarding the entrance to the temple was imported from Egypt at the time of the temple’s construction in the 5th century. Of the columns that supported a porch the temple once had, only one remains. Take a look at the barrel-vaulted ceiling and a decorative frieze on the walls. You can also pop into the crypt, which was used as a church back in the day.
