This museum is located in Prague’s historic sewage-treatment plant, which dates from the late-19th century. Guided tours (book in advance) take you through the labyrinth of sewers beneath the building. The main attraction is simply the vast amount of machinery needed to service a bustling 19th century city. The plant was originally designed to service a city of 500,000 but remained in operation until 1967, when the city’s population had already exceeded a million.
