A green belt begins 2km south of the centre and runs nearly 10km south, hugging the coast – it’s a great place for hiking and cycling. The northern end is known as Marselisborg, the midsection Moesgård and the southern end Fløjstrup – names taken from the former estates of which they were once part.
Landmark features at the northern end are the Marselisborg Palace, Tivoli Friheden amusement park, Jysk Væddeløbsbane (horse-trotting track) and Atletion (sports complex).
