The most stand-out medieval house is Apostelhuset , which takes its name from 13 exterior wooden braces separating the windows. Christ stands on the central brace, with six apostles on either side, each clutching their associated symbols or instruments of torture, and standing on the head of a gruesome monster. Dating from about 1510, they’re among the oldest and best-preserved timber-frame carvings in Denmark.
