Fossils Galore
The brainchild of amateur palaeontologist and avid collector Jamie Jones, Fossils Galore is a unique museum and workshop housing an extensive collection of fossils, bones and crystals from all around the globe. Highlights include local finds like a Woolly Rhinoceros Skull, which dates back around 250,000 years, and a plesiosaur found in Whittlesey, but the best part is that visitors can peek behind-the-scenes, watching the team working to clean and preserve the excavated finds in the laboratory, and learn all about fossil hunting.
The attraction is designed for all ages, with plenty of information available for fossil enthusiasts and fun interactive exhibitions and workshops designed to engage the younger members of the family – kids can try gold panning, try their luck searching for fossils and crystals in the dedicated sand pits, or join a Dinosaur egg hunt. There’s also an art and craft gallery, gift shop and café on-site.
