Stokesay Court
With its stately Jacobean-style façade, magnificent oak furniture and expanse of rolling parklands, Stokesay Court is a striking example of a late-Victorian English country estate. Built by the Allcroft family in the 19th-century, the estate remains a family home to this day, despite serving as a military hospital during WWI and an evacuation center during WWII. These days, Stokesay Court is perhaps best known as the filming location of the 2007 Oscar-winning film Atonement and tours allow fans to walk in the footsteps of stars Keira Knightley and James McAvoy. Visitors can also see the film sites of memorable scenes, including the library, the beautiful gardens and the outdoor fountain.
