Ten kilometres south of Les Mées, stroll quiet hilltop woods and soak in the ethereal calm surrounding this still-working 10th-century Benedictine monastery. It's isolated, 3km up a winding one-lane road. The chapel is the monastery's only enclosed section open to visitors. Its 12th-century floor mosaic (depicting dragons) is the largest of its kind in France. The monk-tended shop stocks soaps, honeys and music made by the monks and houses artefacts found on-site.
