Split over two buildings along rue de la Coutellerie. No 23 explores the historical side of cutlery-making, while No 58 houses the museum's unparalleled collection of knives past and present. About 4km upstream from Thiers is the Vallée des Rouets, an open-air museum dedicated to the knifemakers who once toiled here in front of water-driven grindstones. The admission price includes a shuttle-bus between the two museums.
