As its name suggests, this red-brick structure was the city's main abattoir, but it's now a cutting-edge art gallery. Highlights of the permanent collection include works by Marcel Duchamp, Robert Rauschenberg and Robert Mapplethorpe, but the showpiece is a huge Picasso, La Dépouille du Minotaure en Costume d’Arlequin, created in 1936. Sadly, it's only on show six months a year due to its fragile condition.
