Two kilometres south of Amboise, this tall pagoda was built between 1775 and 1778 when the odd blend of classical French architecture and Chinese motifs were all the rage. Clamber to the top for glorious views. In summer, picnic hampers (adult/child €12.50/7) are sold and you can rent rowing boats and play free outdoor games.
