Art created in the GDR rarely gets much attention these days, which is what makes this museum so special. Its 11,000 works rank among the world's finest and most comprehensive collections of East German art. Changing exhibits are presented in two locations: the Rathaus (town hall) and the riverside PackHof, and may include paintings by Werner Tübke, sculpture by Gustav Seitz and installations by Via Lewandowsky.
