The pedestrianised Zeil is lined by department stores, high-street chains and malls, including the architecturally striking MyZeil , with a mirrored vortex facade (head up to the 5th floor for a panorama from the observation deck).
Zeil is bookended by two squares called Konstablerwache and Hauptwache, both named after guardhouses of which only the one on Hauptwache survives (it's now an atmospheric cafe).
