On the slopes above Pyrgos is the outstanding Museum of Marble Crafts, a modern, well-curated complex that creatively explains quarrying and sculpting techniques. It includes films and beautifully illustrated displays with English translations, along with top examples of artefacts and architectural features shaped from Tinian marble. The films of some of the last living quarry-men plying their trade are fascinating.
