The handsome whitewashed monastery of Chrysopigi dates back more than 600 years and perches on an islet connected to the shore by a tiny footbridge. A superb walk to Chrysopigi is from the village of Faros (about 40 minutes one way); en route you’ll walk along beautiful, azure Chrysopigi Beach , home to two excellent tavernas.
