The lighthouse at the mouth of the Venetian Harbour of Hania is one of the town's special landmarks, luminescent in changing light, and then illuminated after dark. It has a 21m tower atop a stone base and was built in the 16th century by the Venetians, although it underwent various changes over the years. It is now restored, generally, in the Venetian style. Visitors may walk around the lighthouse but the interior is not open to the public.
