Journalist and art historian Imre Patkó was a traveller and an art collector, and this is a fascinating trawl through his life’s trappings. In the 20th-century art collection, the dark Bone Music , the sombre Burned People and the mesmerising Ice World stand out. On the 3rd floor, among the objects collected during Patkó's time in India, Tibet, Vietnam and West Africa, you may spot a ceremonial broom from Burma, wooden carvings from the Congo and Cameroon, a 19th-century opium pipe and an Australian boomerang. The museum is located in the 17th-century Iron Stump House , a former caravanserai entered from Stelczer Lajos utca. It still sports the log in which itinerant artisans would drive a nail to mark their visit.
