Tata’s focal point and its most striking feature is the vast lake, around which you’ll find a smattering of other attractions. This ‘Wetland of International Importance’, protected by the Ramsar Convention, attracts a considerable number and variety of waterfowl, such as migrating geese, best spotted between September and November. In the summer, the lake is served by boats, which depart from the piers just southwest of the castle, on the eastern shore of the lake and also halfway along the eastern side of the lake.
