It is worth taking the time to check out the architecture in the centre of town, including the eclectic-style County Hall dating from 1892; the blue-and-white Art Nouveau building , which houses a bank and offices; and the restored Korona Hotel . Bizarre in the extreme is the Mihály Váci Cultural Centre , built in 1981 and inspired, we are told, by ‘the principles of Japanese metabolism’.
