The highlight of little Skógar is the wonderful Skógar Folk Museum, which covers all aspects of Icelandic life. The vast collection was put together by 91-year-old Þórður Tómasson over more than 75 years. There are also restored buildings (church, turf-roofed farmhouse, cowsheds etc), and a huge, modern building houses an interesting transport and communication museum, cafe Skógakaffi (open 10am-5pm), and shop.
