This modern museum has exhibits on the city's history from 1800 to 1950, including an iconic Galway Hooker fishing boat, a collection of currachs (boats made from animal hides) and sections covering Galway and the Great War and the city's cinematic connections.
Also check out rotating displays of works by local artists. The ground floor cafe, with its Spanish Arch views, is a perfect rest stop.
