About 3.5km northeast of Hook Head, this crumbling manor house gazes over to Dunmore East across the mouth of Waterford Harbour. Dating from the 1600s and rebuilt in the 1870s, Loftus Hall is reputed to be one of the most haunted houses in Ireland. Daytime tours are historical, while evening tours are 'scary' – for adults only – and comprise an hour-long interactive visit where the guide recounts the ghostly history of the building.
