Housed in the pope's traditional summer residence, the Palazzo Apostolico (also known as the Palazzo Pontificio), this recently opened museum displays portraits of around 50 popes as well as costumes, robes and assorted papal paraphernalia. Note that visits must be booked in advance through the Vatican Museums' online ticket office.
