A lovingly restored courtyard with several wooden buildings has become the location of a very popular weekend market, where Rīgans hawk their local produce – fresh meats, cheeses, vegetables and even local spirits. But there is more to it, with live concerts, performances and art exhibitions taking place outside the market days. But even if nothing is going on, sipping coffee in one of the on-site cafes and soaking in the atmosphere of an old Rīga suburb is worthwhile.
