At the base of the peninsula, just south of the main town Radovići, is beautiful Pržno (not to be confused with the other Pržno near Sveti Stefan). This gorgeous scallop of white sand sits within a green horseshoe of scrub, pines and olive trees and is a definite candidate for the title of Montenegro’s best beach.
Most locals know this beach as Plavi Horizont (Blue Horizon) after a large package-tour hotel which was being demolished when we visited. Its replacement, a €250-million five-star resort tentatively known as Beyond Horizon, is being built by a Qatari company and was due to be completed by the end of 2014. The plans show dozens of individual units, each with its own swimming pool, scattered around the beach. We've not sure what this means for the future of the olive grove or for public access to the beach, but it seems that Pržno's days as a relatively unspoiled paradise may be numbered.
