Dobrota’s most distinctive features are its two large Catholic churches. St Matthew’s (Crkva Sv Mateja; 1670) is the older of the two and wears a baroque frontage, a well-proportioned dome and a tall steeple. Cavernous St Eustace’s (Crkva Sv Eustahija) dates from 1773 but has a 19th-century steeple and a little walled graveyard. You’ll rarely find either church open, which is a shame as St Matthew’s apparently contains a painting by Bellini and St Eustace’s has a Veronese.
