Completely restored in 2012, this grand castle across the road from Keukenhof Gardens was built in 1641 by VOC commander Adriaan Muertenszoon Block. Tickets include a compulsory 30-minute guided tour of its lavish interior. It sits on more than 80 hectares of woodland, meadows and flowering gardens. There's a delightful petting zoo where kids can crawl into the pens with the guinea pigs and rabbits, and an adjacent teahouse (both open from 10am to 5pm).
