Architect Pierre Cuypers' favourite church, which he designed and built between 1870 and 1880, suffered from a lack of funds during construction and a fire in 1904. Slated for demolition in 1978, it was saved by a group of architecture enthusiasts. It's a charming steepled church building featuring a fascinating series of shapes with an octagon at its base. The interior (a popular wedding venue) is closed to the public.
