The Tropenmuseum houses a three-storey collection of colonial artefacts, presented with insight, imagination and a fair amount of multimedia. You can stroll through an African market or sit in a Central Asian yurt (traditional felt hut), see ritual masks and spiky spears and listen to recordings of exotic musical instruments. There’s a children’s section, a great gift shop and a cafe serving global foods.
