Vincent Van Gogh Huis
The Vincent Van Gogh Huis is an art center located in Zundert, the Netherlands – the birthplace of the famous artist. The original house in which Van Gogh was born was torn down in 1903 to make room for a new parsonage. The current museum was built by combining the new parsonage with an adjacent parson’s house. The museum is not a traditional art museum and places an emphasis on active experiences, offering painting, drawing and ceramics workshops. Several are Van Gogh themed, such as “Paint like Van Gogh” and “Draw like Van Gogh.”
The Van Gogh Huis features a permanent exhibition on Van Gogh’s roots, focusing on his youth in Zundert, his relationship with his brother and parents, and the city of Zundert itself. Temporary exhibitions feature works from artists in the 20th and 21st centuries who have been inspired by Van Gogh. The museum’s shop offers Van Gogh related walking and cycling routes around Zundert.
