The islands’ major folk museum is on the site of what can be considered to be the first town in the polar region, where traces of the original rorbuer have been excavated. The museum's main gallery was once the merchant's mansion. An easy, undulating, scenic 2km Heritage Path leads from the museum to the centre of Kabelvåg.
